Fun spot to be away from the city. We picked up items from local farm mkts to cook in the fully-stocked kitchen since the dining option was not available the day we went. There are many cooking condiments as well. Was nice to be able to have separate sleeping areas in the beds and futon in the tatami room. There is also a loft area accessible by ladder. We went during a warm spell and needed the fan in the sleeping area since the a/c is only in the living area. I can see it being a cozy spot during the winter and being able to burn in the fireplace. Asahiyama Zoo is very closeby. It would be nice if there was an easy way to search for lodging like this throughout Japan (full kitchen, design boutique). I come across them by chance but would possibly choose where I go based on being able to stay in a rustic contemporary, full-kitchen accommodation.

Very beautiful lodge. Enjoyed our 2 nights at the place. Very relaxing and well taken care by the lovely host Ms Chen. Place can be a bit out of you are not driving, otherwise it's meant to be where it should be. A little trekking during winter in the evening was lovely with beautiful night sky illuminated by the stars. Will definitely recommend it during winter. Fully equipped with kitchen and utensils and cookware. We love the firewall place and they have a small BBQ pit just right out of the master bedroom. Unfortunately we didn't use it. They do provide marshmallows for free to BBQ. You can also do the laundry before you get out the the house and it'll be dry and clean by the time you get back. Huge bonus. There's 2 bicycles that you can try cycling in winter. Definitely worth an experience. Snow boots to keep you warm. Fantastic...

Stunning in every aspect. I really want to thank you the owner of this place and give a big respect for creating this wonderful retreat. The interior detail is spot on with a mix between western and Japanese style. We are amazed by the products provided in this place ; from design lamp, dinning-ware, Microwave, Hand soap, Books, Turntable, BBQ, til the hair dryer! I cannot believe there is a place where the owner trust their guests this much. Not only the place itself is beautiful the surrounding is also match the place. This lodge is in a perfect location which it called Sakuraoka Retreat. You can have a 10-30 mins walk or even ride a bike(there are bike to rent for free) and there is also a cafe nearby called “Cafe Good Life” Mr.Yuki who is the owner of the cafe is the one who came to great us and his cafe is a great place to stop by. We all have a good time here. I miss it already and will be back for sure! P.S. My photos cannot show how the real place looks. Please come visit it and witness it by yourself 🤍.

This is a special cabin, didn’t know what to expect at first since this is a new listing but when we arrive , the cabin is very cozy and nice. The owner really did a good job designing and the attention to detail is amazing. Must try the sauna and also the dinner at the restaurant nearby. They can arrange everything for you. Will definitely return again

Wonderful cabin in the woods. Beautifully appointed and perfect for a family of 5. Futons ver comfy. Outdoor areas are perfect. The pictures tell the story.
